The opal is long and curved — bowed gently at the center, tapering at both ends — the unmistakable silhouette of a boomerang mid-return. It is the most colourful stone in the collection: not dominated by one fire but lit by all of them, green and blue and pink and orange tumbling across the surface in quick succession, the way light moves across water when the sun is low and the wind is changing direction every few seconds.
