A Note on the Stone: Moonstone is softer than opal and prefers a gentler life — keep it away from harsh chemicals, perfume sprays, and long soaks. Wipe gently with a soft cloth to keep the light inside it moving.

A Note on Fate: Each Moor is cut from a different piece of the earth. No two moonstones are alike — some carry a bright blue flash that moves as you turn the pendant, some hold a softer white sheen, some catch a small internal cloud that drifts across the surface like weather. Set into the palm is a small piece of moonstone the colour of a long-evening sky over open country — milky white at the base, lit from within by a slow blue light that shifts as the pendant turns. The stone is raw. Its faces are the ones the earth gave it, still holding the shape they were found in. In gold, it reads like a moon low over grass. In silver, it reads like the same moon at its full height, cool and unhurried. Either way, the light inside it does not sit still. It walks, the way weather walks across a moor.

The Stone She Was Born Holding

A moor is the wildest quiet a landscape can hold. It has no forest to close it in, no field to tidy its edges — only long grass, low sky, and the long walk of a person deciding, alone, which way to go. In June, when the days refuse to end and the moon rises before the sun has finished its business, the moor turns almost silver. The white grasses catch the last of the light. The blue night gathers slowly at the edges. It is one of the few places in the year where you can be standing in the day and the night at the same time.

The old traditions understood moonstone as light made solid — a stone that carried the moon's own patience with it, a stone that revealed to its wearer what her own heart already knew. It was worn by women who trusted their instincts more than their instructions.
