Natural opal contains water. Keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
Full and rounded, with the thick, half-translucent body of a spoonful of marmalade lifted from the jar. The orange is saturated all the way through, not thin like juice but dense like fruit set in syrup. Green fire covers the whole stone in close, overlapping scales, bright even in ordinary indoor light — most opals wait for the sun; this one doesn't. One-of-a-kind. October birthstone.
THE CHARACTER ARC:
A jar of marmalade, held up to the kitchen window.
Marmalade is slow. You cook the fruit down with its own peel, you add the sugar, you wait for it to set. It is a thing you make on a Sunday morning when there is nothing else urgent, and it keeps for months. A good marmalade is thick enough to hold its shape on a spoon and clear enough that light passes through it in pieces.
Her body is that spoonful of orange, lit from inside. The green fire moving beneath the surface is the small pieces of peel caught in the glow — bright, scattered, catching the light wherever it comes from. She does not need afternoon sun to look like herself. Even on a grey morning she is already lit.
She is the warmth you make yourself, that keeps for months, that still tastes like something on the darkest day.
Avoid Water & Chemicals :
Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.
Proper Storage :
When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.
Brass Care :
Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
