Natural opal contains water. Keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
A small raw opal shaped like a handful of sand gathered gently from somewhere. The body is translucent and the fire is extraordinarily saturated — not flashes but a full, lit-up surface of color, as if the sand itself had been replaced with light. One-of-a-kind. October birthstone.
THE CHARACTER ARC:
A small mote, cradled in a golden palm.
A mote is one of the oldest words in English for the smallest thing a human eye can see — the tiny particles that drift in a shaft of afternoon sunlight when it slants through a window. You cannot really hold a mote. You can only see one. And yet here is a hand, holding one, as if someone finally caught the light itself.
Her body is a small handful of what looks like sand, but the sand is lit from inside. Translucent, triangular, modest in size — and then the fire. Not flashes, not sparks, but a whole surface alive with color, saturated and shifting, as if the particles she’s made of had never agreed to stop glowing. You look at her and understand that she is not a stone pretending to be light. She is light pretending, briefly, to be a stone.
She is for anyone who has watched dust drift in an afternoon sunbeam and thought, briefly, that the small things might be the real ones. For the moment of noticing something almost too small to notice. For the quiet wonder that the universe keeps most of itself in the smallest possible pieces. She is the small mote in the palm — a handful of sand that turned out to be a handful of light, held carefully by a hand that knows the difference.
Avoid Water & Chemicals :
Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.
Proper Storage :
When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.
Brass Care :
Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
