Natural opal contains water. Keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
Long, flat, and organically branched — the shape of a small piece of coral that has broken off and been carried a long way by the water. The base is semi-translucent milk-white, and across the whole surface vivid blue fire flashes with the slightest movement, bright and electric the way a reef looks when the sun hits it at the right angle. Set in rhodium-plated silver-white to let the cool blue stay cool. One-of-a-kind. October birthstone.

A reef is where the ocean keeps its brightest things. You go down a few meters and the water starts to glow — electric blues and greens, flashes of color that look lit from inside, whole small cities of life you had no idea were underneath you the whole time. The surface of the sea is quiet. The reef is not.
Her body is a small piece of that brightness, carried up and set in silver-white. The flat branched shape of coral, the milk-white body of something that grew slowly, the vivid blue fire of what the sun does when it reaches down through saltwater. She is not calm. She is the opposite of calm — she is the proof that the brightest aliveness is often happening somewhere no one is looking.
She is for anyone who keeps their most electric self under the surface. For the quiet ones who are secretly on fire. For the small bright thing worth diving for.
