Materials: Gold-Plated Copper Alloy Sculptural Hand + Natural Opal (small rounded form, semi-translucent pale pink-violet base — almost milk-white but not quite — with blue and green fire)

Natural opal contains water. Keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.

Small and softly rounded, with the quiet pearly presence of something picked up at the water's edge. The base is the palest pink-violet, so soft it reads almost as milk-white — until you look again and realize there is color in there, just held back. Beneath the surface, cool blue and green fire drift the way light does on the inside of a seashell. One of the smaller opals in the series. One-of-a-kind. October birthstone.

THE CHARACTER ARC: 

Something small, found at the edge of the water.

A shell is what the sea leaves behind. You bend down, you pick it up, you turn it over in your hand — and the outside is quiet, almost nothing, pale and worn smooth. Then you turn it toward the light and the inside is a soft rainbow you did not expect, cool blues and greens moving across the mother-of-pearl.

Her body is that same quiet trick. A base so pale it almost reads as white, until the light moves and reveals the pink-violet it was holding all along. Blue and green fire drift just beneath the surface — not loud, not performed, just the quiet rainbow that was always there.

She is the small thing you pocket on a walk and keep on the windowsill forever. The reminder that pale is not the same as empty.
