Natural opal contains water. Keep away from heat, harsh chemicals, and ultrasonic cleaners. Wipe gently with a soft dry cloth.
A small irregular raw opal in a soft pale blue — translucent, with green fire moving across the surface in gentle flashes. The shape is roughly squarish but with the uneven edges of something that was broken off, not cut. Looks exactly like what would happen if a small piece of sky fell down and someone caught it in time. One-of-a-kind. October birthstone.

The sky is one of the few things human beings all agree is beautiful without needing a reason. We look up at it from different continents, different centuries, different lives, and we all more or less feel the same thing — a quiet little lift, a reminder that there is more above us than below. A sky shard is what that feeling might look like if it ever came loose and fell down to us.
Her body is that same loose piece of sky. A small irregular form in translucent pale blue, with soft green fire flashing across the surface — as if a late aurora got caught in a corner of her when she fell. The edges are uneven, broken rather than shaped, the way a real piece of sky would be if the sky could break. She is light enough to carry, bright enough to notice, blue enough to remember where she came from.
She is for anyone who has ever stood outside and looked up for no reason, and felt briefly better. For the quiet gift of a sky that keeps giving itself away in small pieces. She is the small sky shard in the palm — pale blue, softly lit, held carefully by a hand that knows what it caught.
