The Character Arc

This is not merely a brooch; it is a tiny, kinetic sculpture of pure joy, brought to life by the celebrated artisans at Attwood & Sawyer. A delightful hummingbird, caught in a moment of joyful flight, is a masterpiece of color and craft. Its body is adorned with vibrant panels of hand-painted enamel in sapphire blue, emerald green, and ruby red, gleaming like jewels within a gilded frame. A sprinkle of clear, brilliant rhinestones on its wings and throat captures the fleeting sparkle of sunlight on its rapid wings.

Its tiny emerald eye holds a look of playful curiosity, ever searching for the next beautiful blossom. Across many cultures, the hummingbird is a tiny but mighty symbol of resilience and optimism. It is a messenger of joy, a testament to the idea that even the smallest of creatures can undertake the most incredible journeys. This brooch is the embodiment of that spirit—a celebration of lightness, energy, and the art of living fully in the present moment.

Imagine it pinned to the collar of your dress or the strap of a woven market tote. It’s a tiny, cheerful companion that adds a pop of unexpected color and a whisper of optimism to your day. It doesn't demand attention; it earns it, with its exquisite detail and undeniable charm. It is a small, private smile you can wear.

Don't just wear a brooch. Wear your joy. Let its vibrant spirit lift you.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: This is a beautiful and well-loved vintage piece. The hand-painted enamel is vibrant and intact, and all rhinestones are present and sparkling. The gold-tone surface on the front shows some very fine, minor surface scratches consistent with gentle use, visible only upon very close inspection. The reverse, featuring a lovely hammered texture, is in great shape. The pin mechanism is fully functional, but there is some minor plating loss on the pin stem and clasp area. These subtle signs of a life well-lived are completely unnoticeable from a normal viewing distance and do not detract from its immense charm.

Jewelry Cared
  • Avoid Water & Chemicals:
Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.

  • Proper Storage:
When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.

  • Brass Care:
Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
