A brass kitten — front paws wrapped around a ball of yarn, face tilted upward with an expression that manages to be both guilty and entirely unapologetic — sits at the center of a translucent emerald green agate heart. The stone is the deep, saturated green of old bottle glass, of velvet curtains in a Victorian parlor, of the kind of green that only exists in rooms where the light comes through heavy fabric and lands on polished wood. It is glossy enough to reflect the room around it, giving the pendant a liquid, almost jewel-like depth that makes the small brass cat appear to be sitting inside the stone rather than on top of it. At 7.6g it has a satisfying density for its compact size — the weight of a small, warm creature curled in the palm of your hand.
THE CHARACTER ARC:
The One Who Unravels Everything and Is Forgiven Immediately
Every household has one. The creature who knocks the glass off the table and then looks at you as though the glass started it. Who pulls the thread from the hem of your favorite sweater and presents the damage like a gift. Who falls asleep on the one document you need, at the one moment you need it, and sleeps so beautifully that you use a different document instead.
This pendant is a portrait of that creature — not at rest, but mid-mischief. The yarn ball in the cat's paws is the tell: this is not a cat who has been caught. This is a cat who does not believe there is anything to be caught doing. The face is turned upward not in guilt but in something closer to delight — the pure, uncomplicated pleasure of a being who has found the most interesting object in the room and claimed it.
The emerald agate frames this scene in the color of a room you want to stay in — a room with a deep sofa, a low fire, a stack of unread books, and a cat who has just destroyed something small and is now purring about it. Green agate has been associated with balance and calm since antiquity, but here it serves a more specific purpose: it is the color of the forgiveness that follows every small domestic catastrophe. The thread is pulled. The yarn is tangled. The cat is already asleep. And somehow, the room feels warmer than it did before.
Wear it if you have ever loved something that made your life slightly more chaotic and immeasurably more alive. If your heart has a green velvet corner where the mischief-makers are always welcome. If you know that the best companions are not the ones who behave — they are the ones who make you laugh when you should be annoyed.
Avoid Water & Chemicals :
Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.
Proper Storage :
When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.
Brass Care :
Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
