Of the three large cameo lockets in this collection, this one is the quietest — and perhaps the most beautiful for it. No angels, no mythology, no narrative. Just flowers. A full, generous bouquet of peonies and dahlias carved in creamy ivory resin, their petals layered with enough depth and detail that you half expect them to feel soft. The central peony is fully open, each petal curling outward from a textured center. Smaller blooms and pointed leaves fan out around it, filling the oval frame completely. Beneath the bouquet, the tortoiseshell-amber ground glows warmest here — more golden honey than espresso, as if the flowers are lit by late afternoon sun coming through a conservatory window. The brass case has the same matte-gold finish and engraved scrollwork border as its companions. It opens to hold two photographs.
