It looks like the earth cracked open and showed you what it keeps underneath. The resin cabochon at the centre of this locket burns in deep amber and molten orange, shot through with dark veining that shifts like cooled basalt over a still-glowing core. Tilt it and the lighter patches flare — honey catching fire, caramel on the edge of smoke. Hold it still and the darker threads reassert themselves, a geological map of pressure and heat drawn across a stone no bigger than a thumbnail. The scalloped brass border and fine textured bezel frame it with the quiet formality of a setting that knows it's holding something volatile.
