An oval brass locket with a scalloped outer border and fine crosshatched engraving framing a single large cabochon at its center. The vintage glass stone sits deep purple at its core, with blue-violet surfacing at the edges and the occasional iridescent flash of plum or green shifting across the dome depending on the angle of light. The brass has the warm tone of aged gold, and the engraved texture around the stone catches light in parallel ridges that make the frame look almost woven. The cabochon’s surface is smooth and domed, pooling light rather than reflecting it — more like looking into something than at it.

THE CHARACTER ARC:

A Piece Written in the Dark

Look at the stone and watch the colour settle: deep plum at the center, violet at the edges, with the occasional shimmer of blue or green that surfaces and dives back down like something moving just beneath still water. This is the purple-blue of the hour between day and night, when the sky is still lit but no longer bright — the pause the day takes before it closes. The scalloped brass frame holds it the way an old windowsill holds a view, patient and unobtrusive, the engraved crosshatching catching light in fine parallel ridges that make the whole frame look quietly woven. Chopin wrote nocturnes for exactly this hour — the stillness between light and dark, when the mind finally slows and begins to listen to itself. Wear it when the days get shorter. Open it and place inside whatever you want kept through the dark — a face, a note, a small square of someone’s handwriting. Close the clasp, and the night stays with you, worn against your pulse, portable and private.

Avoid Water & Chemicals :

Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.

Proper Storage :

When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.

Brass Care :

Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
