THE SPIRIT:

Black Garden · Golden Requiem · Opulent Shadow · Midnight Bloom · Darkly Beautiful

DESCRIPTION:

Brand: The Character Arc · The Renaissance Edit

Origin: Reconstructed from Vintage Components

Size: Length: 2.05 inches (Marquise) | Weight: 7g (Light & Luminous)

Materials: Natural Black Onyx (Polished Marquise Cabochon, Deep Opaque Black with Glass-Like Sheen), Solid Brass Poppy Bloom with Foliage (Hand-Sculpted, Art Nouveau Botanical Relief Style), Gold-Plated Bezel Frame

Condition: REIMAGINED VINTAGE

A brass poppy in full bloom spills down the length of a marquise-cut black onyx — petals unfurling, bud swelling beside it, leaves curling at the base with the organic drama of something growing faster than the stone can contain. The onyx beneath is the kind of black that doesn't reflect — it absorbs. No shimmer, no undertone, no negotiation. Just depth. And against that absolute darkness, the poppy's matte gold catches every available scrap of light in the room and holds it, the way a single candle holds an entire hallway. The relief is high enough to cast its own shadow across the stone's surface, creating a second poppy made of darkness underneath the one made of brass. At 2.05 inches it is one of the longest pieces in the collection — the marquise shape elongates it further, turning the pendant into something closer to a brooch in scale, a vertical garden pinned against the chest.

THE CHARACTER ARC:

A Flower That Only Grows in the Dark

The poppy has always lived in two stories at once. In one story she is the flower of sleep and forgetting — the red bloom in the field that makes your eyelids heavy, the petal that Persephone was holding when the earth opened. In the other story she is the flower that grows back first after everything has burned. Battlefields. Scorched earth. The empty lot behind the building no one uses anymore. Where nothing else will take root, the poppy arrives, red-mouthed and unannounced, and blooms as though destruction were just another kind of soil.

Black onyx and gold is the oldest color pairing in mourning jewelry — Victorian women wore it to funerals, to widowhoods, to the long grey years after someone left and didn't come back. But they didn't wear it because they were sad. They wore it because grief, in their world, was a form of devotion — and devotion deserved to be beautiful. This pendant carries that same energy. The poppy doesn't bloom on black onyx despite the darkness. She blooms because of it. The dark is where her gold shows best.

As part of The Renaissance Edit, this pendant is lovingly reconstructed from vintage components, carrying both age and renewed purpose. Wear it as the woman who has learned that beauty and darkness are not opposites — they are collaborators. Who dresses in black not because she's hiding but because she knows that against a dark background, every detail becomes significant. The poppy doesn't apologize for where she grows. She never has.

Avoid Water & Chemicals :

Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.

Proper Storage :

When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.

Brass Care :

Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
