An oval brass locket with a scalloped outer border and fine crosshatched engraving framing a single large cabochon at its center. The vintage glass stone is a mosaic of saturated colours — deep blue, forest green, scarlet, magenta, violet, and gold all pooled next to each other across the dome, each colour holding its own patch rather than blending with its neighbours. Thin dark lines separate some of the colours like the leading between fragments of stained glass. The brass has the warm tone of aged gold, with the engraved texture around the stone catching light in fine parallel ridges. The cabochon’s surface is smooth and domed, and the whole stone reads like a painter’s palette caught mid-session — too many colours out at once, each one still vivid, none of them yet turned into a painting.

THE CHARACTER ARC:

Before the Painting

Painters work from a palette: a flat board, usually held on the thumb, where all the colours they’re using for a session get laid out in daubs. Before a single brushstroke lands on the canvas, the palette already holds the whole painting — every colour that will be used, every tone that will be mixed, every mood the final piece will carry — all crowded next to each other, uncommitted, equally possible. A palette mid-session is more alive than the finished painting; it holds not just the colours but every colour that could still happen. This stone is that moment. The deep blue sits next to the scarlet, which sits next to the magenta, which sits next to the forest green, and none of them has yet decided what it will become. The dark lines between them are the places where the brush hasn’t gone, where the colours haven’t been coaxed into speaking to each other yet. The scalloped brass border holds it like the wooden edge of a palette, worn smooth by a working hand. Wear it when you want to carry everything-still-possible against your pulse. Open it and place inside the ideas you haven’t committed to yet. Close the clasp, and the palette stays with you, loaded with every colour the day might still turn into.

Avoid Water & Chemicals :

Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.

Proper Storage :

When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.

Brass Care :

Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
