An oval brass locket with a border of flowers and leaves engraved all around the edge, framing a single large cabochon at its center. The vintage glass stone is deeply iridescent — green dominates the dome, shifting into gold-yellow where the light catches, with cooler blue-teal pooling at the shadowed edges. The green itself has layers: a bright metallic green on top, a deeper forest-green beneath, and the occasional flash of amber that surfaces when the stone is tilted. The brass has the warm tone of aged gold, with each flower and leaf of the border visibly worked by hand. The cabochon’s surface is smooth and domed, and the colour inside doesn’t sit still — it moves in planes as the stone turns, the way a peacock’s feather changes colour depending on which way it’s facing.

THE CHARACTER ARC:

The Colour That Isn’t a Colour

Here is the thing nobody tells you about peacock feathers: they aren’t actually green. If you ground one up, the dust would be brown. The green and blue you see are structural — microscopic layers in the feather that bend light in specific ways, so that depending on the angle you look from, the same spot can be emerald, teal, gold, or almost black. That’s why a peacock has to turn, has to open its fan, has to catch the light exactly right. The colour only appears while the bird is doing something. This stone works the same way. Hold it still and it’s deep green with a hint of gold; tilt it, and the gold slides across to the other side and the green deepens into teal; angle it toward the sun and the whole dome lights from within, as if a small hundred-eye tail were opening somewhere inside the glass. The engraved brass border of flowers and leaves holds it like the garden a peacock walks through. Wear it on days you feel like being seen — but on your terms, in your own light. Open it and place inside whatever only appears when you decide to show it. Close the clasp, and the colour keeps turning on your pulse, visible to anyone who happens to look at exactly the right moment.

Avoid Water & Chemicals :

Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.

Proper Storage :

When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.

Brass Care :

Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
