A single brass feather lies against a pale blue field of natural amazonite — not dropped, not falling, but placed, the way you place a dried flower between the pages of a book you intend to open again someday. The stone is the colour of a letter written on blue stationery and left in a drawer for years: soft celadon, faintly clouded, the kind of blue that doesn't demand attention but holds it once you look. The feather is detailed to its finest barb — quill shaft running the length of the stone, each vane textured with the careful asymmetry of a real plume caught mid-drift. A feather, before it was a symbol of freedom or flight or any of the things greeting cards have made of it, was a writing instrument.
