A golden face laughs against total darkness. The comedy mask — one half of the ancient theatrical pair — is sculpted in full dimension: brows arched high, mouth open in mid-laugh, hollow eyes that see everything and reveal nothing. It is not a flat stamping but a face with depth, with shadow pooling in the eye sockets and beneath the chin, with cheekbones that catch light the way real cheekbones do. The black agate behind it offers no compromise: pure jet, no veining, no variation, polished to a mirror-gloss that makes the stone look less like a surface and more like a hole in the world — a stage with every light turned off except the one aimed at the performer.
