Two swans face each other across a ground of deep amber resin — necks curved inward, wings half-open, their bodies forming a near-perfect heart between them. The carving is in high relief, the white resin catching the light cleanly against the rich tortoiseshell-amber beneath, the contrast so deliberate it reads almost like lacquer work. A band of fine engraved scrollwork rings the brass frame, and at the top and bottom of the cameo, symmetrical flourishes anchor the composition with the quiet confidence of something designed to last. At 20.7g, this locket settles heavily and warmly against the chest — present in the way that things made with intention always are.
THE CHARACTER ARC:
For the Love That Needs No Words to Prove Itself
Swans were chosen long before romanticism made them a symbol — they were chosen because of what they actually do. They pair for life. They return to the same water. When one is lost, the other is known to grieve in ways that are difficult to watch. The person who first carved two swans facing each other understood that some gestures do not require explanation. The shape says everything.
This locket carries that gesture in amber and white resin, set in gold that has earned its warmth. The two swans are not decorative. They are a proposition: that beauty is most itself when it faces something equal to it. That grace, when it meets its mirror, becomes something larger than either half alone. The amber ground — the color of old honey, of light through autumn glass — gives the scene the quality of a memory already treasured before it has fully passed.
The locket opens. This one is for the woman who carries someone with her — not because she cannot stand alone, but because she has chosen, with full knowledge of herself, not to. She wears the swans on the outside so the world can read the shorthand. She keeps the photograph inside, where it belongs.
Avoid Water & Chemicals :
Keep all pieces dry and away from water. This is vital for The Renaissance Edit's vintage brass, as it prevents oxidation. Also, avoid perfumes, hairspray, lotions, and harsh cleaning agents; they can dull stones and react with metals.
Proper Storage :
When not worn, store your treasures in a cool, dry place. Keep them out of direct sunlight, ideally in individual soft pouches or a lined jewelry box, to protect their brilliance.
Brass Care :
Vintage brass naturally develops a rich patina over time. For oxidation or spots on Renaissance Edit brass, a gentle polish with a soft cloth will easily restore its warm, golden luster. Embrace this as part of its living history!
